Two things. Once duiring carnival season, everyone following the lot man realized AFTER complete set-up, we were in the WRONG parking lot. The other we had to tear down the wheel and move it 6 inches because of air traffic interference. These weren't exactly embarrasing (nor funny at the time) but something to talk about 4ever.

While setting up the banner line, it got kind of windy and blew my skirt up...under which I wasn't wearing much.  *heh*

nassau colliseum, about 10 years ago maybe more, loading stock onto our crews golf cart, stuffed the last giant rottweiler through the back..... and pushed a bag of stock onto the gas pedal ...... had the whole show laughing at me as i tried to chase that durn thing down!

Well, it wasn't set up and it wasn't me, but... We use these fence posts with knobbys on the side to hold a rope to keep watchers away from the net on our dunk tank. The kind that you put up chicken wire fences up with. Tear down, one of the help was in a hurry to leave. [He had a date with a lizard] Well, these posts go in the ground about a foot and a half. He said, "Can I pull this out"? I jokingly said, "Knock yerself out". He proceeded to yank it back and forth to loosen it up. It broke and he literaly Knocked himself out. He ended up in the ER with a concussion, 3 bumps on his forehead and missed out on the lizard. Every time I see him I call him "Knobby".

16 yrs ago while laying out the frame of my then wooden bushel basket i put the front top rail on upside down and it being the heaviest joint on the midway i had to get a few guys to help my raise it and that when we all noticed the rail was upside down cuz there were no hinges for the braces needless to say i never did that again but i did have about 8 guys messing with me for the next 5 or so set ups.

When I was 18 years old, I had just joined an independent with a show the week before in my hometown.  It was a stick joint for the fish pitch with fencing for sides and canvas that folded down to approx. 6" above the fencing. The canvas was snug tightly and as I walked away, my boss tells me to get something out of it.  Instead of undoing all of the rope that kept the canvas tight in place, I was skinny enough, I bent myself forward at the waist and slipped into the joint.  Even though I was skinny enough to fit, it was still a very tight fit for me and I heard a rip.  The back end of my jeans completely tore out.  It wasn't a small tear, this was a massive, stop you in your tracks and find a barrel complete back to front failure of the seam.  I was the only girl working with the carnival as well, so it was noticed to say the least as I scampered back to my car/camper to change clothes.

It was my very first set up in Lockport NY back in 2002.  We were unloading the lumber truck and I was completely clueless on how to do anything. So I thought I could atleast be helpful and grab one of the barrels that were being handed out of the truck. When I put the barrel on the ground it fell over and just happened to be full of glass bowls for our fishbowl joint. I broke close to every bowl that we had .  I I felt like such an ass. lol

  raining sliped and fell off the tilt trailer(tub rack) bounced off the trailer riped out the the ass of my jeans (no undies) houses had left early so no clothes  continued tear down  with my unit exposed  to the world.

well it was not set up for me but slough  banged my head on a low 2X4 and knocked out a tooth

well I think.... probably it was midnight or so and we was setting up the merry go round. We had local help working that night. I walked a bock or two to a store for some drinks, and my boyfriend was the supervisor helpin the local and somebody else came into the store says "your ol man just got hurt, bad" ...... uh oh. I run back to the lot and the damn local smashed my man's hand in between the deck plates ..... the boss got pissed there was blood on the ride ha. anyway... it split his thumb open like... split... where everything was coming out.... then shortly before hand 2 other travelin friends fell from the top and one f**ked up his knee and the other landed on the long board and fuc*ed up his back. the boss still wanted us working... and to top it all off... we were in the parking lot of a cop shop.... and then the next day we was open and i found out my brother back home had died. It was prolly the worst spot ever just BAD luck and there was NO coin under the merry go round. I am not supersistious but... DAMN
